Jamaal Prints (“we”, “us”) is the responsible party for the processing of your personal information under the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (“POPIA”).

1. What we collect

When you place an order or create an account we collect: your name, email address, shipping address, phone number, and order history. Payment is processed by Shopify Payments and our payment gateway — we never see or store your card details.

2. Why we process it (purpose and lawful basis)

To perform our contract with you: processing and delivering your order, sending order notifications, handling returns and support requests.
To comply with law: tax and accounting records.
With your consent: marketing email. We only send marketing if you opt in, and every message includes an unsubscribe link. You may withdraw consent at any time.

We do not sell your personal information.

3. Where your information goes (cross-border transfers — POPIA s72)

Our store runs on Shopify Inc., which acts as our operator (data processor). Shopify stores data on servers located outside South Africa (including Canada, the United States and the European Union). By using this store you acknowledge that your personal information is transferred to these jurisdictions, where it is protected by Shopify’s contractual safeguards and privacy programme, in line with section 72 of POPIA. 4. Cookies and analytics

Shopify sets cookies necessary for the cart and checkout to work, plus analytics pixels that show us aggregate store performance (pages visited, referrer, approximate location). We use this to improve the store, not to identify you personally.

5. Retention

We keep order records for as long as the law requires us to (typically 5 years for tax purposes), and account information for as long as your account is active. After that, records are deleted or de-identified.

6. Security

All traffic to this store is encrypted (TLS). Payment processing is PCI-DSS compliant through Shopify. Access to customer records is limited to the people who need it to run the store.

7. Your rights under POPIA

You may at any time:

request access to the personal information we hold about you;
ask us to correct or delete it;
object to processing, including direct marketing;
withdraw consent previously given.

8. Complaints

If you believe we have processed your personal information unlawfully, you may complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa): complaints.IR@justice.gov.za — inforegulator.org.za.
