Blue Rumi Iznik Tile

Glazed Tiles, 2026

Ceramics · Ottomano-Turc
This handmade Iznik tile is inspired by the classical Rumi style, one of the most recognisable ornamental languages in Ottoman and Islamic art. Rumi motifs are known for their flowing split-leaf forms, curved outlines and graceful sense of movement. Rather than appearing as a single isolated flower, the design moves across the tile through vines, leaves and floral details, creating a balanced pattern that feels both decorative and architectural.
When repeated, each tile connects into a continuous surface pattern, making it ideal for larger installations such as feature walls, mosque interiors, fountains, niches, bathrooms, kitchen backsplashes and decorative friezes. The design has enough detail to feel rich up close, while still creating a calm and harmonious rhythm across a full wall.
Each colourway gives the tile a slightly different mood, from soft and light to bold and dramatic, while keeping the same traditional Rumi composition. As with all handmade ceramic tiles, small variations in glaze, tone and surface are part of the character of the piece and give the final installation warmth and depth.
