Biography

Iznik tiles are not simply decorative ceramics.

They are part of one of the most refined artistic traditions of the Ottoman world. Originating in the town of Iznik in Türkiye, this craft reached its height in the 15th and 16th centuries, when luminous ceramic tiles were used to adorn mosques, palaces, fountains, and imperial interiors.

What makes true Iznik tilework exceptional is its material depth and handmade process. Traditional Iznik ceramics are known for their quartz-rich body, bright white ground, thick transparent glaze, and vivid colours, including cobalt blue, turquoise, emerald green, and the distinctive coral red. Each motif is drawn, transferred, outlined, painted, glazed, and fired through a careful process that gives the tile its richness and lasting beauty.

Our collection features original Iznik tiles made in Türkiye by one of the leading manufacturers preserving this historic craft. These are not printed replicas or souvenir tiles, but handcrafted ceramic pieces rooted in Ottoman design, traditional technique, and living cultural heritage.

Whether displayed as a single artwork or used within an architectural installation, each tile brings the elegance of Islamic art and the legacy of Iznik craftsmanship into contemporary spaces.
